India's freedom fighters were brave individuals who fought for country's independence. They made big sacrifices and faced many challenges to secure better future for us. Because of them, India attained independence on August 15, 1947 and became a free nation.
Mahatma Gandhi, called the "Father of the Nation" is one of my favourite freedom fighters. He used the principles of truth and non-violence to fight the British rulers. He organized movements like Non-Cooperation, Salt March, Civil Disobedience and Quit India, to achieve India's independence. His peaceful protests inspired many. He also worked to end discrimination and untouchability.
Bhagat Singh was another great fighter. He spoke up for our rights and even sacrificed his life.
Rani Lakshmi Bai was a great woman. She fought against British soldiers to protect her kingdom and people.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose organized Indian National Army(INA) and inspired many to fight for our freedom.
Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru was also one of the greatest leaders. He made great contribution by leading the freedom movement and also became India's first Prime Minister.
Other great freedom fighters like Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Chandrashekhar Azad, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Lala Lajpat Rai, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and many others played a great role. They faced struggles, arrests and even death. They fought for all of us.
It is important to honour our freedom fighters. They teach us the values of unity, sacrifice, courage and love for our motherland. We should be grateful for their sacrifices and work together to keep India strong and free.
