Women have contributed to society in many ways. From Indira Gandhi in politics to Kalpana Chawla in space, women have shown great strength. However, many still face discrimination and lack equal opportunities.

This day reminds us that women must get equal rights, respect, and opportunities. Across the world, people organize rallies, discussions, and award ceremonies to honor women. An educated and empowered woman can help build a strong society.

The theme for 2025 is "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress." This reminds us that empowering women leads to a better society. Around the world, people organize rallies, discussions, and award ceremonies to recognize women’s contributions.Governments introduce policies to improve women's safety, education, and health.

The first Women’s Day was celebrated in 1909 in the USA. By 1911, countries like Germany and Denmark also started celebrating it. In 1975, the United Nations (UN) declared 8th March as International Women’s Day to promote gender equality and women’s rights. In India, this day reminds us of great women like Rani Lakshmibai, Mother Teresa, and Kiran Bedi, who broke barriers and inspired many.

However, women still face issues like discrimination, lack of education, child marriage, unequal pay, and violence. We must work together to bring real change. We must support girls’ education, respect women in our daily lives, stand against gender discrimination and ensure that women’s voices are heard.
