Together, they are the strongest pillars of our life.

They are also our very first school. Even before we meet any teacher, it is our parents who teach us to walk, to speak, and to understand right from wrong. They shape our character, guide us when we make mistakes, and inspire us to dream big. Their love is unconditional, and their blessings protect us like a shield.

In Indian tradition, parents hold a sacred place. It is believed that their blessings are more powerful than prayers. Sadly, in today’s time, many children forget their sacrifices. When parents grow old and need care, some children neglect them. This goes against our culture and our values.

As students, our responsibility is simple. We should listen to them, respect them, and study sincerely to make them proud. Obedience and gratitude are the true gifts they expect. And later in life, when they become weak, we must be their strength just as they were ours.

Parents are priceless treasures. With their support, we can achieve anything, but without them, life feels incomplete. Parents are not just guardians; they are the pillars of our existence. So let us always honour them—not just with words, but through our actions.

Every day of their lives, they dedicate themselves to our growth and happiness, often putting their own needs aside.

A mother is the purest example of love, sacrifice, and patience. She carries us before birth, stays awake through our sleepless nights, and gives up her comforts just to see us happy. Her love is endless, like a river that never dries. A father, on the other hand, stands as a symbol of strength, responsibility, and protection. He works hard, silently faces struggles, and ensures that the family never falls short of anything. Together, parents form the strongest foundation of our lives.

They don’t just provide food and shelter. Parents shape our values, teaching honesty, discipline, and respect. They correct us when we go wrong and encourage us to rise after every fall. Their guidance is what builds our character and future. In Indian tradition, parents are respected above gods, because without them there is no existence. The saying “Matru Devo Bhava, Pitru Devo Bhava” reminds us that serving and honouring parents is the greatest form of worship.

Unfortunately, in today’s world, many people forget these values. Some get busy with careers, while others neglect their parents in old age. This is both painful and unfair. Parents should never feel unwanted because they are the ones who gave us everything we have today.

Showing gratitude does not need grand gestures. It lies in small actions—speaking with respect, caring for them, spending time with them, and standing by them when they need us. Success, good behaviour, and love are the gifts that make parents happiest.

Parents are truly priceless. Their sacrifices cannot be measured, their blessings cannot be replaced, and their love has no comparison. Money can be earned, friends can change, but parents can never be replaced. Let us remember to value them every single day—not only on special occasions but through the way we live our lives.
