Water is an invaluable gift of nature. Only three percent of total water available on earth is freshwater. But more than sixty percent of this potable water is locked up in ice caps and glaciers. It is clear that fresh clean water is a limited source. All living beings need water for their survival. It protects our ecosystem and wildlife. It is required for growing crops and for all other daily purposes. With growing population and such a small percentage of water fit for consumption, it makes sense that we must conserve and preserve this precious resource. Water conservation is the practice of using water efficiently to reduce unnecessary water shortage. Rainwater harvesting is the most effective method of water conservation. Afforestation reduces surface run-off and recharges our groundwater. To stop water pollution, it is important to treat the sewage before discharge. We must rationalize the use of groundwater. Its exploitation should be in proportion of its recharging capacity. There should be reusing and recycling of water. We should refrain from misusing or overusing our water resources. By renewing our traditional water resources, using modern method of irrigation and changing our crop pattern as per agro-climatic conditions, we can conserve water and deal with its scarcity. By adopting such methods, we can preserve clean water for the welfare of our future generations.

National integration is the awareness of common identity among the citizens of a country. It is a bond of unity, togetherness and brotherhood between people irrespective of their caste, creed, language and gender. It is essential for supporting the peace and progress of a country. National integration promotes communal harmony and challenges casteism, regionalism and linguistic differences. It improves the feeling of loyalty and fraternity towards the nation and people feel unity in diversity. It is essential to promote education, social and cultural unity and equal access to basic rights and amenities to foster a sense of integrity in the citizens of a country. The government should take some drastic steps to promote national integration. It is the duty of every person to oppose the forces and ideas that weaken national unity and integration so as to secure our national interests. Hence, national integration plays a significant role in making of a nation.
