Road accidents are increasing day by day. They are on the rise especially in big cities. Every year large numbers of people die in these road accidents. It is one of the biggest reasons of unnatural deaths in India. Reckless driving seems to be the root cause behind these accidents. Other causes include drunk-driving, bad road conditions, breaking traffic rules and avoiding safety gears like seat belts and helmets.
A few strict steps such as strict enforcement of speed limits, heavy penalty on law violators and making driving tests more stringent are needed to avoid such accidents. People should be made aware of traffic rules and proper safety measures.
I, therefore, request you to kindly publish this article in your esteemed newspaper so that it may generate public interest and the concerned authorities look into the gravity of matter and take adequate measures.

Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I would like to express my concerns over the indiscriminate felling of trees.
The ruthless practice of deforestation can cost us very dear. Trees give us all necessities of life. They give us food and purify air. The great expanse of forests with their vast fauna and flora contribute to our economic strength. Forests also provide livelihood to large number of rural people. But the indiscriminate felling of trees can cause an alarming situation. Deforestation has many negative effects on environment. Plants and animals are losing their habitat. Deforestation gives rise to problems of soil and water erosion, global warming and air pollution. It has adversely affected the balance of nature. Thus, we need to keep an eye on this problem and must undertake replanting of trees as soon as possible.
I request you to highlight this message through your newspaper to spread mass awareness in this respect.
