A VISIT TO A BOOK FAIR
Books play a significant role in our life. A book fair is an event where various types of books are displayed and sold. It is a place where authors, publishers and book lovers come together. A book fair is a paradise for book lovers.

A book fair was arranged last week in our city. I convinced some of my friends to visit the book fair with me. We all started for the book fair at 10 O’clock. We went by bus. It took 30 minutes to reach there. The book fair began at 11 a.m. and continued till 6 p.m. It was held in large open space enclosed on all sides. There were attractive hoardings everywhere. There was a huge crowd of people.

There were hundreds of bookstalls. They were attractively decorated. The books in each stall were orderly and effectively arranged in shelves. We visited most of the bookstalls. Some publishers were offering heavy discount. There were many books and on different fields like Science, Technology, History, Literature, and Biography and so on. Books such as drama, fiction, non-fiction were also available. There was a huge collection of dictionaries of various publications. There was a special section for children’s book. I bought few books on literature and some on Science and Technology. My friends also bought several books. We spent a whole day there. We came back late in the evening.

My visit to the book fair was really a pleasant experience. Such book fairs should be organized in all cities to inculcate the habit of reading among people. It is the best place for readers especially for students. It was a memorable trip.

WOMEN EDUCATION
Every child has a right to learn and get a good quality education regardless of gender. Education is the most important tool for the empowerment of women. Every day, girls face barriers to education caused by poverty, poor infrastructure, cultural restrictions and gender based discrimination. Educated women can contribute to the development of a nation both socially and economically.

It is true that investing in women’s education is investing in a nation. An educated woman is likely to ensure that her children also receive education. So we will have future educated generations. Better educated women tend to be more informed about nutrition and healthcare, have fewer children, marry at a later age and more aware of their rights and choices. An educated woman contributes financially for the needs of her family which results in better living conditions and her improved social status.

Thus educating a woman means educating the family and the nation. When women are educated their families, communities and nations prosper. If we want to achieve the goals of socio-economic development, we must promote women education.
